Start a conversation →The order matters
Most SEO money gets spent on step four while step one is still broken.
There are usually four reasons a site doesn't rank, and they need fixing in order:
- Google can't see it properly. Slow pages, content that only appears after JavaScript runs, stray noindex tags, duplicate versions with no canonical. Unglamorous, and by far the most common.
- It doesn't answer the search anyone makes. Sites organised around how the business thinks, not how customers search.
- There isn't enough of it. A five-page site can rank for five things, not fifty.
- Nobody vouches for it. Links, citations and consistent business details.
Do the first three well and a surprising number of local businesses never need to worry much about the fourth. We've written this up in full: why your website isn't ranking.

Local SEO
For most businesses here, local is the winnable fight.
"Near me" is where a small business can actually beat a big one.
Competing nationally for a term like "content agency" means outranking companies with a decade of backlinks and a full-time SEO team. Competing for "social media management Bournemouth" or "video production Poole" is a completely different proposition — fewer competitors, higher intent, and proximity works in your favour rather than against it.
That means a properly configured Google Business Profile, service pages for each thing you do, location pages where you genuinely serve a distinct area, and identical business details everywhere you appear. It's slower than paid ads and it doesn't stop working the day you stop paying.
Reporting
You'll be told what didn't work, too.
Monthly, in plain English: which pages moved, which queries you're appearing for, what we published, and what we'd change next. Impressions and positions from Search Console rather than a dashboard of invented scores.
If something isn't working we'll say so and change it. The alternative — reporting only the metrics that happen to be up — is how agencies keep clients for a year and lose them in month thirteen.

FAQ
How long does SEO take to work?
Technical fixes and better structure can move things within weeks. Competitive local terms usually take three to six months of consistent publishing. Anyone promising page one in thirty days is selling you something.
Do you guarantee first page rankings?
No, and nobody honestly can — no one controls Google's index. What we commit to is the work and a monthly report showing exactly what moved and what didn't.
Do I need a Google Business Profile?
If you want local searches, yes — it's the main route into the map results and one of the strongest local signals. If you work from home you can register as a service-area business and hide your address from public view.
Is local SEO different from normal SEO?
Same foundations, plus proximity, your Business Profile, consistent details across the web, and reviews. For most small businesses local terms are far more winnable, so that's where we start.
Can you fix a site someone else built?
Usually. If the platform is fighting you we'll say so honestly rather than charge to patch it indefinitely — see web design.
