The approach

Most small business websites are far heavier than they need to be.

A five-page brochure site does not need a content management system, a page builder, fourteen plugins and a database. That stack exists to make the building easier, and the cost lands on your visitors — as slow pages on a mid-range phone, which is how most of your customers will actually see it.

We build most sites as static files. They load close to instantly, can't be broken by a plugin update, cost almost nothing to host, and score well on Core Web Vitals by default rather than after months of patching. This site is built exactly that way, if you want a reference point.

Where a business genuinely needs to publish daily, we'll recommend a CMS. But it's a decision, not a reflex.

What's included

Design, build, and the technical groundwork most sites skip.

Design

  • Structure and page planning around what customers search for
  • Visual design in your brand, or a brand direction if you don't have one
  • Copywriting, or editing what you already have
  • Mobile designed first, not squeezed down afterwards

Build

  • Hand-built front end — fast, accessible, no bloat
  • Technical SEO foundations: structure, schema, sitemap, indexation
  • Forms, analytics and Search Console configured properly
  • Hosting set up, plus the files and a written handover guide

Standards

What every site we build has to clear.

  • Fast on a real phone

Tested on mid-range hardware over mobile data, not just a desktop on fibre.

  • Accessible

Keyboard navigable, proper contrast, real alt text. It's also better for search.

  • Findable

Crawlable, indexed, structured data in place from day one — not bolted on later.

  • Yours

You own the files, the domain and the hosting. No lock-in, no mandatory retainer.

Locally

A website project goes better when you can sit in the same room once or twice.

We work with businesses across Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch and the wider Dorset and Hampshire area. The kick-off and the sign-off are the two meetings genuinely worth doing in person — the rest runs perfectly well over email.

Being local also means the photography can be done properly rather than bought from a stock library, which is usually the single biggest difference between a site that looks like the business and one that looks like a template.

Questions

What people ask before getting in touch.

FAQ

How much does a website cost?

Quoted per project after a short conversation. You'll have a fixed price in writing before anything starts, and it doesn't move unless you change the scope.

How long does it take?

Typically six to eight weeks from first conversation to launch. The biggest variable is usually how fast content and photography come together, not the build.

Do you use WordPress, Wix or Squarespace?

Usually none of them. Most small business sites are better hand-built as static files — far faster, unbreakable by plugin updates, and nearly free to host. If you genuinely need to edit daily we'll recommend a CMS, but as a choice rather than a default.

Can I update it myself afterwards?

Yes. You get the files, the hosting and a short written guide, and we'll walk you through the common edits. No lock-in, no mandatory maintenance fee.

Will it rank on Google?

The build gives it every technical advantage, but ranking also needs content and time. See SEO for the part that happens after launch.
